Vijay Bahuguna, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, is son of Late Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna who was a freedom fighter, eminent politician in India and was also former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Vijay Bahuguna a member of the Indian National Congress party has represented the Tehri Parliamentary constituency in 14th and 15th Lok Sabha.He is the first former high court judge to become a chief minister of a state in India.

He continues to head government as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from March 13,2012.
